Friends in my garden and GIVEAWAY

We have a lovely tortured willow tree in our front garden and at this time of year it is heaving with little birdies breaking off the tendrils for their nests. We can watch from our window and marvel at their delicate work. So to thank them for the pleasure they bring us, we bought a seed tray for them. Its been such a success and after 4 days, its almost empty. I figure these mummies need fattening up for their babies! The tree is too awkward for cats to jump up at, so we feel its pretty safe for our new friends. We have chaffinch, goldfinch, bullfinch, blue tits, coal tits, sparrows, blackbirds and Jays (!!!!) who visit us daily; its lovely.

Here is one of our sparrows who doesn't even flinch when we walk out the front door. Isn't she a pretty little thing?

She is totes checking me out, checking her out, here!

The weather has been gorgeous here and today, the first day of spring, was bursting with the golden light that I love at 5pm. Ellie is much better with her vision at this time of night as the sun is a lot dimmer. Here she is yelling at me to hurry up as it got a tad nippy at this stage. Im not a big fan of sunflare but it couldn't be help here. Love my Belles, so much.
And finally - a giveaway from Natalie O'shea at Stampin Up! Its almost the end of Stampin' Up's Sal-a-bration so if you haven't grabbed one of their amazing bargains, come and check them out here (I bagged two sets of sale-a-brations this year!). All you have to do is spend £45 or more you receive a free stamp set or a stack of GOREGOUS papers.

The giveaway:

To be in with a chance of winning the above booty, leave your name in my comments box and I'll pick a winner at the weekend x

Hasn't it been so wonderful and spring like the last couple of days! Yesterday at school we took all the infants out onto the field for playtime - the first time this year. Such a good feeling to be leaving winter behind :)

Lovely birdy snaps Kirsty, I've got a Thrush to-ing and fro-ing with nesting material at the mo and the cat sits in the window eyeballing her, tail wagging! Another happy photo of Belles too.

How lucky are you to have those different birds? Me jealous? Noooooo well, maybe just a little. We're on the edge of t'countryside and don't get anything like that variety - I'm too embarrassed to take part in the Big Bird County every year! :-D But it is lovely to wake every morning to the Dawn Chorus so I'm not complaining. Lovely photo of Belle. Jude.x

Lovely pics... of Belles and birdies. I'm lucky enough to live right on a river bank and it's like a nature documentary out there at times. :)

Nice giveaway - aren't the Sale-a-Bration sets fab? I think I got 3 of them this time. :D

One of the best things we bought last year was a bird table. I've become addicted to checking out our daily visitors and get concerned if the regulars are missing!
Doesn't the Spring arriving make everything so much nicer?

My tree is always full of tits. which makes my boys laugh!
I've also had a woodpecker and a sparrow hawk!
We're so lucky that at the back of our garden is a huge allotment so there's plenty of nesting sights and no traffic.

I'd love to win something!
I've finally placed a SU order and got a free stamp set!
Have a great day

I love it when the long tailed tits come to feed, first a pair of them, & then suddenly you look up & theres at least 10 on the same feeder.

Beware - birds are a time waster. I can sit and watch for an hour or more before I realise how long has passed! Totally jealous of your bullfinches, we never get them!

Its been gorgeous down south too - I've been out setting up the veg patch today and enjoying the company of my garden robin. Just catching up with your blog and LOVE that strainer - been after something like that for ages as I am forever tipping pasta into the sink trying to strain it with a fork! Loving the stampin up goodies especially that sewing machine stamp and paper!

Great photo's Kirsty, I love Spring too, the kids love getting out into the sunny weather! I also have birdies visiting my garden, mainly blackbirds, but they are soooo gorgeous with their little yellow beaks and black feathers, just pottering round the garden finding the worms. Thanks for the chance to win the SU stuff, it's gorgeous!

I may put a little birdie tray in our willow tree, although ours is pretty low and I'm not sure if the 5 cats who live either side of us may take the opportunity!

We call our bird visitors 'the crazy gang' as they go mad when they visit our feeding table!!!

ellejaygee said...

We don't get many bird visitors to our garden, something to do with it being mostly laid to gravel, oh and our four cats perhaps (!) but one of our neighbour's chickens finds it strangely alluring, we've found her out there several times having a scratch around.

Just love all your fabby photos Kirsty - you are so talented. Love all the lovely cards you make too - very elegant x

I love tour pics of the birds. Last year we had 5 young birds in our garden, they came back for a long time. Now their mum and dad are building a new nest, I hope to see some babybirds again, so lovely... My pictures are often unsharp. Belles photo is a beauty too! Thanks for the chance. Gr. Marlies
