oh cripes!

Look, some people welcome the big Four-Oh with relish.
But to me, the number 40 looks whopping on my CV.
It denotes middle age, it doesn't look attractive as 39.

I entered my 30's very over weight and blonde. I'm entering my 40's lot slimmer (but not super slim) and red. I entered the world bald and 7lbs 9oz - lol

I may or may not have crows feet.

I still don't know what to do with/in my life.

I'm happy but I could be happier.
Think I might make this happen seeing as I'm ripening and have my age to warrant the manicness that comes with old age.

Pics of me through the ages:
Cringing at this layout (fashionable circa 2005!) Thats me, my mum and dad. Oh my god - what is worse - old layouts or old photos?!

Me aged 5 - nice fringe. Nice collars.
Me at 16 - 7.5stones! I will NEVER be that weight again, sadly!
I think Im 32 here, after a huge weight loss. I am aiming to get back to this weight again, maybe this youth!
So there is the blonde above, brunette below (38 years old). I do like to faff!
And red - oh cripes. RED!!!!!! My mid life crisis hair.

Happy bloody 40th Birthday to me - gah! **runs away screaming into the night**

Happy Birthday Kirsty. Most everyone I know is 39..... Or "ThirtyTen". And honest - it's really not that bad. :-) I'm now into my "fortytens" and loving it. I can be as eccentric as I want and the kids blame it on my age.. but even join me sometimes... LOL
Have a great day. Jude.x

You have to go with it girl, what is the alternative? The important thing is to have a young outlook on life and not to become a boring 'old' fart (which I know you are not!) I am encouraged by the fact my 11yr old niece bring her mates round to my house & wants to wear my shoes cos they are cool (and I am 50 next year.)
Hope you will be having a bottle or two of Bolly today, Happy Birthday Kirsty.

A very happy birthday to you Kirsty and enjoy every minute of it!
I am 41 now and my 40th birth-year wasn't a pleasant one or one I would like to do over again, got divorced, had to move and my father died very unexpected, so count your blessings dear and age really is just a number.

Turning 40 is better than the alternative. I turned 40 last year and it hasn't been so bad lol!

My Nan is 88 today so from where you are standing 40 is pretty damn young
