Sponsors and Dt's

I'm lucky that people want to sponsor my blog and more often than not its for product and not the big bucks that people think! I love working with crafts supplies for DT work and for magazine work - its all about spreading the love, you know?! This post is dedicated to giveaways and winners so lets start with the Midnight Rooster mini kit winner from last week, so step forward Andi - YOU WIN!

I have two stamp sets from Banana Frog to giveaway too - Bevs GORGEOUS new stamps keeps the stamping masses salivating no more. I don't know how she keeps coming out with such natty designs but she does and I ain't complaining. I made a card this afternoon with a few of her new stamps, just because (see below). To be in with a chance to win, I need you to tell me your fave low fat "go to" snacks because Ive just bought a treadmill and I'm in training. Other than fruit, I need lovely little nibbles that wont harm my diet. This does not include lemon cake or carrot cake - even though I would technically class them as part of my five a day, I do have to be a bit more sensible in the forthcoming weeks. My campaign is called "T minus 28lbs". Check in with me every weds if you want to join in and note your losses with me.

As you may have noticed, Tonic Studios sponsor me with their punches and cutting systems - don't forget they are running a "design a punch" competition whereby one lucky winner will have their design turned into a punch to go on general sale in the UK - wooooooo!

Tomorrow I have a spectacular giveaway worth £60 so check back for that tomorrow as well

Finally here are a selection of cards Ive been working on for mags and challenges.......

Using my Raspberry Ocean papers from Colour Me Crazy CD, a quick make acetate card
Using images I designed for Crafts Beautiful's latest issue

Using promarkers, I coloured in the blank images that I designed for Crafts Beautiful

Using papers and images again from my Colour Me Crazy CD

Using Banana Frogs brillsville word and frame stamps - in love.

and finally Tonic Studio Butterflies and edger punches ..... I made a card very similar not so long back but I did make a few changes to this one.

Phewey - time for bed. I have a treadmill to go and collect tomorrow and I need all the energy I can muster to prepare my first ahem, run/walk on it!

water! water! and more water! not in the least bit exciting, but when I want to lose weight I drink more. It fills me up, flushes me out and if I am exercising too then it keeps me from falling over.

Really nice cards, love your style!! I have started to drink more water as it does fill you up and my favourite nibble, which I think is low cal is to buy on of those cheap little popcorn makers and some popping corn, plain fresh popcorn with no toffee, butter or additives, it's tasty and I'm sure it's low cal too :-D

Good luck on the campaign to loose weight - I know how hard it is, but once you set your mind to it - you can do it! I find walking everywhere helps shift those lbs. As for treats I like those 0% youghurts.

Love all the cards, but especially the butterfly one.

My favourite snack is low fat Fromage Frais with either fruit or Options mixed in. The Options is best mixed in and left over night so the flavour infuses well.

Big caramel rice cakes, only 51 calories each.

I'm a savoury girl. My fave snack is wafer thin ham wrapped round Philly extra light cream cheese. Flavour cheese with capers. peppadew or just black pepper. Yummy!!! Celery with extra light is good too.

Morning Kirsty, brilliant cards, your designs are always bright and modern. Just love the last green and white, it's stunning:)

I'm afraid when I'm cutting down on food the one thing I really miss are biscuits, so I get the Go Ahead orange and sultana Crispy Slices a packet of those makes me feel so much better but they have to be worked into your plan 'cos they aren't fat or calorie free. I think it's worth it :) Good Luck!!

Gorgeous cards Kirsty.. love the butterflies.. I'm a butterfly nut!! Although real ones freak me right out.. eeek!! coloured moths!! *shudder*

Anyhooooooooo.. weighloss snacks tips.. hmmm.. I'm more of a salt person so I go for packs of 'kids' snacks like Meanies, chickatees and reduced fat crisps. Well worth the calories when I need something tasty to snack on. And I agree with Darcy.. WATER, WATER, WATER!! Fills the belly and helps you to lose weight too ;)

Might see you back here next Wednesday, if I'm brave enough.. lol.

Water is definitely the best low fat snack, along with grapes (which, let's face it, are mostly water too!). Thanks for entering me in your draw.

Hi Kirsty, toffee flavoured muller light yoghurts - feel very naughty and are fat free!!! Lovely cards. XX

Grapes are lush if you freeze them - they go like boiled sweets and are refreshing and sweet :D

fruit is my low fat 'go to' snack, so I'm not sure what to suggest. No matter the calories I'm less likely to feel guilty if it doesn't just contain fat and sugar but some minerals or vitamins too, so my body can actually do something usefull with it. Good luck with reaching your goal!

I am always trying to lose weight and at the moment am snacking on Carr's water biscuits(14 cals a biscuit!) and a mini tub of philly(38 cals a tub)and celery or grapes on the side!! Carry on and keep smiling!!

I love your cards and follow your blog Kirsty and as I started my diet 2 days ago I can keep an eye on your weight-loss progress too. The best tip I can endorse 100% is DRINK PLENTY OF WATER !! It is working for me - I SIP water all day and it is very refreshing as well as being good for you x

Kim said...

Of course you must drink a lot of water... but that's no snack!!
A light snack and no fruit....
It's difficult!
You can make some popcorn in the microwave (not the sweet one!!!) and whem they are hot, you can mix them with some chili or curry.

Or you can eat some olives.... I love them!!!

Or a pickle with a slice of chickenfilet?
Or a komkommer (i don't know what it is in english lol) with aromat?
Or a hand of raisins...

And did you know that chocolate with >72% cacoa good is for you?
Not a hole candybar but just one small ienie minie tinie piece?

Good luck!
Lfs!

Love the cards especially the butterfly one - my all time favourite colour.
When I lost all my weight I saved up my points and I had a curly wurly in the evening. Takes ages to eat and gives you a fix of the sweet stuff. I also found the strongest cheddar cheese I could so I could use less when cooking with it. I'm not a water lover so I have it with no sugar cordial instead.
Aldi Satin Crunch crisps, cheese flavour are good. £1.29 for 6 and only 80cals a bag (chilli flavour make me cough).

Loving all you cards but especially the butterfly one -it is stunning. I have started on a weight loss program too! My downfall has always been crisps so I now have snack-a-jacks. Very tasty and still get the satisfaction of opening the crunchy packet which makes it feel like is not good for you!!

Fabulous cards Kirsty - I bought the Tonic butterfly punch after seeing it on your blog a while back - I just love it and I had to take a closer look at your card to see how you had got it half way up the card - I've worked it out now -doh!! LOL.

Well I can sympathise re the weight loss - I'm trying too - starting power walking with friends this week - did 4 miles both Mon and Tue - I've got muscles where I didn't know I had em'!!

One of my fav snacks is sesame seed ryvitas with a large dollop of humous yum, yum. They are also really nice with Philly on too. Another fav is blending up a quick fruit smoothie - today I had pineapple and strawberries.

Anyway best of luck on the treadmill..... Looking forward to reading how you get on.

Japanese rice crackers...there arent usually a lot of seaweed ones(if you're not into foliage on your food!)in a packet, but theyre low everything and just a lil bit scrummy at the same time!
Also,if you have a chinese/japanese supermarket near you, wasabi peas are righteously hot n steamy on the old senses without the lardy calories round the waist....
Love to the curlygirl

Gorj cards Kirsty. A long time ago I used to be called 'thunder thighs' by one of my male 'friends'! I cut out fat, no cheese, eggs, pastry etc and had loads of cottage cheese (V. low-fat) in salads, sandwiches etc. Couldn't give up the biccies tho, gotta have something to dunk in your cuppa. Ginger aren't too calorific.
Good luck with it.

You will be fine on the treadmill and i will join you in your challenge!! I have recently joined a gym and cant run for much more than a minute at the mo, so i run for a minute and rest for 20 seconds. another good tip i have picked up is to walk falt out up hill for 2 mins then stop and do free weights on biceps or triceps for 30 seconds then back on the treadmill!!
