A dog called Trevor, curried almond soup, sing-a-long "Sound of Music" and a walking bar? OH YEAH! Entertainment in Hamilton is spot on. Meet Trevor, Roz's dog. I love him but I can't help but laugh at the choice of name for a dog. It tickles me something chronic. Belle was a little scared at first but warmed to him slowly. Roz and Bens house is like something off a chocolate box picture. Its so beautiful with high ceiling interiors and rooms here and there. But her bathroom is to die for. A free standing roll top bath with a stunning ornate candelabra display. I am moving here, Mark and ain't nuttin you can do about it.
It wasn't long before the kids settled into doing their thing and Roz and mine our stuff. Namely scrapping, no shocks there! Roz made all of her crimbo cards already whilst I attacked a kit I received from the states. It was very difficult as the patterns and colours are somewhat random if not bizarre. But the challenge was to get at least 6 pages done and Im on number 4 right now so its not all bad. Roz prepared tea as I rounded some layouts up and made me this.
No, its not gruel. Its curried almond soup and it is THE BEST thing I have ever eaten. So much so we had it for our 3am supper later! The best thing is it takes 10 minutes to make and is full of protein. This could be another starter favourite of mine including my famous chicken liver pate which I inherited the recipe from my mother-in-law. I loves good food and you get plenty here. We are having roast lamb for lunch and I have offered to make my famous Yorkshire puddings. Being a Yorkshire lassy myself I only think its right that we are the worlds best at making them and I make them without measuring the ingredients (my mother taught me so well!). So with all this eating going on, we will "roll" home safely!
Last nights entertainment mind was just superb. We all got jammied in our jim jams, all four of us snuggled on a super king size bed and watched "sing a long sound of music". I can't believe you can buy this DVD with subtitles throughout the songs. Before we settled down though, Roz carried our cava and orange upstairs and it tickled me something rotten that she looked like a walking bar. Minute Maid in one pocket and cava in another - pure class!
We paused the film at the intermission as the kids were dropping off. Which meant bed for them and scrapping for us until 3.30am.
And my weekend is still on going.................. wooo hooooooooooooooooooo.
